The Legislature approved deeper cuts to Library Aid than proposed by the Governor.  The recently approved 12.5% or $4.2 million cut was the fourth reduction in Library Aid in the past 20 months. If you are frustrated and/or dismayed by the Legislature's recent actions, please feel free to share your thoughts with your state legislators.  Please click on the "BECOME A LIBRARY ADVOCATE" button above !

Gone are the days when books were the only things you could borrow from the library. Now, you can check out music CDs, DVDs  and audiobooks, among other things. You can also save money at your public library by taking advantage of all of the free public programming offered!

OUR MISSION Minimize

The Bolivar Free Library's main mission is to serve and be responsive to the needs of the community.  To that end the Bolivar Free Library will strive to provide programs and services for all ages in the hope that they will encourage a lifelong enjoyment of reading.  The Library will administer a system to select, acquire, and preserve various media of contemporary interest, high demand, and permanent value for the personal, cultural, educational, and professional stimulation of an entire community.  The library will also administer a system to ensure that these collections represent a broad spectrum of subjects in a variety of formats, using traditional, contemporary, and emerging technologies.

Calling all KNITTERS!  WE WANT YOU!  The Library is starting a knitting club on Thursday evenings (twice a month)...if interested, call the the library to sign up today!

The Bolivar Free Library is a unique town library that offers the community a place to come and enjoy.  They have public access computers to search the world wide web. There is a children's room filled with the newest material and all the wonderful classics.
