Why Summer Reading is Important
Can children’s reading skills really slide during just a few short months out of the classroom? Yes, the notion of a “summer slump” for school-aged children is very real, however, there is good news. Children who read over the summer can maintain or even increase their reading level. Reading for pleasure is the best way for them to practice and improve their reading skills. Children who find something they want to read tend to be the best readers and have more enjoyable reading experiences overall. Encouraging children to read for pleasure is the goal of the Bolivar Free Library Summer Reading Program.

In these tough economic times, it important to know about all of ways you can save money by making use of the resources at your public library. Gone are the days when books were the only things you could borrow from the library. Now, you can check out music CDs, DVDs and audiobooks, among other things. You can also save money at your public library by taking advantage of all of the free public programming offered!

Patrons need to PRE-REGISTER for the classes as we like to set them up on an individual basis to give you the most from each class!
You can learn anything from basic computer operations --how to shop on EBAY, or perhaps how to use microsoft office---YOU DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT TO LEARN!

Adult patrons - the library has created a room just for you! Now you can surf the net using your own laptop or one of ours. The internet cafe is available for adult patrons to surf the net, relax with a book in our comfy chair, or perhaps read the newspaper!

The Bolivar Free Library is a unique town library that offers the community a place to come and enjoy. They have public access computers to search the world wide web. There is a children's room filled with the newest material and all the wonderful classics.
