NEED HELP with using our online card catalog or downloading material like an audiobook onto your MP3 PLAYER...stop in, we'll show you how to get the most out of our online resources.  You'll learn to renew, reserve books and utilize our services from the convenience of your own home! We are the library that never closes as you have access to us 24/7.

The Legislature approved deeper cuts to Library Aid than proposed by the Governor.  The recently approved 12.5% or $4.2 million cut was the fourth reduction in Library Aid in the past 20 months. If you are frustrated and/or dismayed by the Legislature's recent actions, please feel free to share your thoughts with your state legislators.  Please click on the "BECOME A LIBRARY ADVOCATE" button above !

In these tough economic times, it important to know about all of ways you can save money by making use of the resources at your public library. Gone are the days when books were the only things you could borrow from the library. Now, you can check out music CDs, DVDs  and audiobooks, among other things. You can also save money at your public library by taking advantage of all of the free public programming offered!

OUR MISSION Minimize

The Bolivar Free Library's main mission is to serve and be responsive to the needs of the community.  To that end the Bolivar Free Library will strive to provide programs and services for all ages in the hope that they will encourage a lifelong enjoyment of reading.  The Library will administer a system to select, acquire, and preserve various media of contemporary interest, high demand, and permanent value for the personal, cultural, educational, and professional stimulation of an entire community.  The library will also administer a system to ensure that these collections represent a broad spectrum of subjects in a variety of formats, using traditional, contemporary, and emerging technologies.
 
What's happening at the Library... Minimize

The Library will be CLOSED on MONDAY, Sept. 6th in honor of THE LABOR DAY HOLIDAY.  We will resume regular hours on Tuesday, Sept. 7th.  Have a safe and wonderful Holiday!  Remember, we are NEVER really closed...you can access our card catalog, order books online, renew items through our website, download audio books plus chat with us on FACEBOOK anytime! :-)

Join us for a SIT -N- STITCH on Wednesday, Sept. 8th @7PM.  Bring any current / past knitting, crocheting, quilting project you are working on.  Exchange ideas, have some fun and meet new people!

 

            

Remember-- School Starts Wed. Sept 1st....

Be sure to get your child a library card so they can start off the school year right!  Our computers are connected directly to the school, so kids can complete homework assignments right here at the library! NO MORE MISSED HOMEWORK!

The Bolivar Free Library is a unique town library that offers the community a place to come and enjoy.  They have public access computers to search the world wide web. There is a children's room filled with the newest material and all the wonderful classics.
